Exhibition Design | Danielle Roney

Presented by: The High Museum of Art, Atlanta
Curators:
Michael Rooks, High Museum of Art, Atlanta
Jonathan D. Solomon, 306090, New York, Hong Kong

Taking a comprehensive approach to the exhibition context, Workshopping: An American Model of Architectural Practice, explorations of architect lead initiatives covered a broad range of collaborations that impact socioeconomics, environmentalism and community activated solutions to urban challenges.

Danielle Roney and Jeff Conefry lead the design phase with an array of digital media approaches to provide an emphasis on experiential installation. Time-based media, large-scale wall graphics and physical models were balanced within the physical space of the U.S. Pavilion to provide a dynamic overview of seven leading architectural practices from across the United States.

Workshopping: An American Model of Architectural Practice is the official U.S. representation at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale. The exhibition has been organized by the High Museum of Art and 306090 and is presented by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

Peachtree Center, a 50-year architectural development project in Atlanta, Georgia, highlights John Portman and Associates unique model of architectural practice, wherein the architect directly impacts the socioeconomic infrastructures of the urban epicenter. Presented as an immersive video installation, the cinematic component provides an experiential survey of Peachtree Center's four key interior atriums and the pedestrian network that connects this system of mixed-use public spaces.

This single channel piece utilizes a computerized five-projector system to create a dynamic, time-based treatment of space in relationship to an LED integrated acrylic model of the Peachtree Center system.
