Global Portals: Johannesburg to Atlanta
2007

National Black Arts Festival, Hammonds House Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Georgia, Atlanta Celebrates Photography, Atlantic Station

Sponsored by the Fulton County Arts Council in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Arts

Globals Portals, presented at TEDGlobal 2005 in Oxford, England, began as a concept for transnational, public realm networking as public art interventions. Looking to challenge digital divides and emphasize the virtual transcendence of geographical boundaries, the project experimentations traveled to Johannesburg in 2007 to present a series of one-on-one and group conversations as well as environmental expansions through simultaneous urban sunrises across the globe.
