TRACE correlates the relationship between macro spatial perspective and micro molecular connectivity while representing a poetic human perception of our communal health and well-being through the dedicated care of the ProMedica system.

The project incorporates these dynamics through data-driven spatial relationships to anchor the visitors’ experience, accentuating movement through the atrium with undulating views. Natural light filters through the optics of the translucent glass spheres, where interactions between light and form respond to the transition of time and space, illuminating themselves at different proximities and paces.

The translucency of the glass presents a layered association with the viewer, emphasizing how we see ourselves and the world around us through our communal social systems. Designed with a unique blue color palette, the tonality of the form reflects intrinsic qualities of water and sky that envelope our internal and external worlds, while directly associating with the Maumee River and Toledo as the ‘City of Glass’.

TRACE floats effortlessly within the atrium space as a satellite reflecting our individual and collective connections; where many facets of health care innovation can be inspired by artistic experience, reinforcing how our connectedness contributes to our collective well being.
