Awards and Honors

Danielle received an Arts Encouragement Award 2007 from the Charles Loridans Foundation for her work in art and technology. She is the first visual artist to receive this new award to individuals.

Danielle also has received a Working Artist Project Grant from the Museum of Contemporary Art - Georgia, for one year, to continue the Genesis Trial Series with a focus on South Africa. The new video performance work and sculpture installation will exhibit Spring 2008.

Global Portals Event Simulcast 2007

July 2007, Danielle traveled to Johannesburg , South Africa for a residency and public simulcast event, launching the public communication project, Global Portals for the National Black Arts Festival.

Additional events from South Africa, India, Brazil and Beijing, China will continue through a collective of artists and institutions converging in live public interactivity. A collective Summit is being planned for Spring 2008 in Beijing, China.

Johannesburg , South Africa

Danielle participated in a Digital Africa panel discussion, organized by Trinity Sessions artists, Marcus Neusetter and Stephen Hobbs, at the Johannesburg Art Gallery as part of the Africa Remix Exhibition.

Many thanks to Marcus and Stephen for being an integral part of the Global Portals experience. Their work in the community and abroad is dynamic and thoughtfully engaging. They hosted many studio visits and dinners with an international group constantly in flux.
